A SISArgentina Windows VPS is a virtual server with Windows Server 2025 or 2022, remote desktop (RDP) access as Administrator and a static Argentine IP. It is installed with Microsoft’s evaluation license, which lasts 180 days; to keep using it afterwards you activate a license of your own. We recommend the VM4, with 4 vCPU and 4 GB of RAM, because Windows needs more memory than Linux.

How to get started

Connect over remote desktop
With the IP and Administrator password you receive by email. On Windows, from Run or a terminal:
mstsc /v:TU_IP -
Check how much evaluation time is left
In a terminal on the server, this command shows the license status and the time remaining:
slmgr /dlv -
Activate your license before it expires
An evaluation edition is converted to the full one with DISM and your product key, in an administrator terminal; when it finishes, the server restarts. For Datacenter, replace ServerStandard with ServerDatacenter.

Is the Windows license included?
No. It is installed with Microsoft’s evaluation license, which lasts 180 days, and for permanent use you activate a Windows Server license of your own, Standard or Datacenter. If you do not have one, ask us before ordering.
Which plan do I need?
We recommend the VM4, with 4 vCPU and 4 GB of RAM. Windows Server also runs on the VM2, but 2 GB leaves little room for your applications.
How do I connect?
Over remote desktop (RDP) as Administrator: from Windows with Remote Desktop Connection, and from macOS, Android or iPhone with Microsoft’s client.
Can several people work at once?
Out of the box, Windows Server allows two remote desktop sessions for administration. If more people will connect to work, you need remote desktop access licenses (RDS CAL), which each customer provides. For a team sharing a business system, see the Windows cloud server.
Can I use SQL Server?
Yes. SQL Server Express is free and handles databases of up to 10 GB; for more, or for the Standard edition features, the customer provides the license.
Is the server managed?
No. VPS plans and cloud servers are delivered unmanaged: we provide the server with a clean operating system, the static IP and root access, and from there on installing, configuring, updating, securing and backing it up are yours. The commands on this page are the ones in the tool’s official documentation, verified on Ubuntu 24.04, and they are enough to get it running; support for the tool itself is its own documentation and community. If you get stuck with something on the server, write to us and we will lend a hand. And if you would rather not deal with it, our software factory builds custom work on this same infrastructure. Shared hosting with a control panel is a different story: that one we do install and maintain.
